周四 (12日) 下午，美國聯合航空的網站突然塞爆，主要原因是有人發現這裡出現 0 元至 10 美元的國內線機票，造成搶購。聯航發現問題後關閉了訂票服務，在修復後重新開啟，不過在錯誤的 15 分鐘內，已售出不少機票，目前仍不清楚聯航是否會認帳。

《CNN》報導，聯航發表聲明，表示這次出錯是由於人為失誤。主要是資料送出時發生錯誤 (contained an error)，導致部分票價顯示為零，目前已經修復。

由於 0 元機票的消息在網路論壇傳開，15 分鐘內造成搶購，聯航緊急關閉網站，表示正進行維護。網站在中部時間下午 2 點 45 分重新恢復訂票。

《美聯社》報導，從事顧問工作的 Nancy Ilk 表示，她用 10 美元，買到由明尼亞波里到休士頓及華盛頓雷根國家機場，以及 10 月回程的票。10 美元是 911 安全費（Sept. 11 security fee）的價格。

她現在等著看聯航會不會認帳。她說：「這應該很有趣。」
