（中央社記者楊思瑞台南7日電）台南市富樂夢教育基金會為經濟弱勢學童開辦免費英語學園，今天有14名學童結業。因成效不錯，基金會決定增加招生名額。

富樂夢教育基金會董事長沈坤照表示，英語能力是提升學童競爭力的關鍵元素，但有不少來自弱勢家庭的學童，無法接觸學校課程外的英語教育。基金會在民國100年8月成立富樂夢學園，免費提供學童學英語的機會；去年有9人結業，今年增加為14人。

富樂夢學園長唐雅慧表示，這14名學童經過學園2年培育，有些剛開始不願開口說英語，有些則是上課不專心，現在他們看見老師會主動以英語問候，可用簡單的英語對話，讓老師們感到很欣慰。

唐雅慧表示，結業式中安排學園的在學生以英語朗讀等方式歡送結業生，結業生代表全程以英語致詞。基金會也邀請結業學生學校的校長參與，感謝校長們的協助，也希望各校能更強化英語教育。

沈坤照說，為協助更多經濟弱勢學童，基金會將繼續協助有意繼續進修英語的結業生。學園招生範圍將於今年9月擴點至高雄市湖內區的5所國小，預計招收150名學童；台南班下學年度的學生也會從目前185名，增加到240名。1020707
