　微軟全球副總裁尼克帕克昨來台發表演講，並展示各種搭載Windows 8產品，預告6月26日將釋出8.1預覽版，供消費者免費下載試用，未來新改版都將依循這種模式推出。

　尼克帕克說，Windows 8已向下支援到7吋平板規格，4月起針對OEM廠商推出小尺寸觸控平板專案（7至10.1吋）預載Office軟體，已在台北國際電腦展中看到部分產品，預料可帶來龐大商機。

　尼克帕克說，從許多調查發現，平板用戶其實不只上網、玩遊戲，還有很多人想在上面完成工作，預載有Word、Excel、PowerPoint、Onenote等Office應用程式的平板，可大幅提高用途，另外，下半年搭載Windows 8.1的ARM平板，將追加Outlook 2013 RT。

　微軟昨天也展示Windows 8.1新特色，包括個人化、搜尋、App、Windows市集，及全新IE 11等主要功能，在讀取郵件時，可同時瀏覽文中提及的網頁連結。
