日本正在研擬第三個孩子起，幼稚園教育免費的鼓勵生育措施。
日本共同社報導，日本政府相關人員透露，文部科學相下村博文等官員決定暫時讓第二個孩子幼稚教育費用減半，第三個及三個以後的孩子學費全免。
日本政府目前的方案沒有排富條款，只要生第三個就免幼稚園學費。而領取生活保障津貼的低收入家庭，第一個孩子就可以免費。推行這項政策需要好幾百億日元。
自民、公明兩黨去年眾議員選舉的時候，提出幼兒教育免費的政見。今年夏天參院選舉前，執政黨將提出擴大免費適用範圍的政策。
